DemiCon, Des Moines’ annual science fiction, fantasy, and gaming convention, is Des Moines’ best kept secret. It is also our signature event, running continuously for over 30 years.

The convention is normally held at the Holiday Inn Northwest, 4800 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, IA at the end of April/beginning of May.

Semi-Annual Constitution Collective aka SACC
Summer SACC is held Labor Day Weekend.
Winter SACC is held New Year’s Eve Weekend.
Both are held at the Holiday Inn Northwest, 4800 Merle Hay Mall.
SACC is a semi-annual gathering of DMSFFS membership and friends to review bylaws, have workshops, and do a little charity, all while having fun!
Basically we get together and have fun at the Holiday Inn Northwest, the same hotel where we host DemiCon. You can come and go as you like. It is free though we ask for a donation of food for the potluck, some volunteer time, and/or a monetary donation.
We take over a couple of rooms on the 5th floor for our hospitality suite as well as the Minnesota Room for gaming/events and the Indiana Room for DemiCon Lites and the DMSFFS meeting.
We also have a charity aspect for the weekend where we create an item for another non-profit or for DemiCon to be sold for the charity that is being sponsored.

DemiCon Lite
DemiCon Lite is the name for the Des Moines Science Fiction & Fantasy Society’s educational workshops and events that happen though out the year.
They are open to all ages. If you wish to lead a workshop or event, please contact the DemiCon Lite team at demiconlite@demicon.org.
